I created our little farm in order get the family off all our electronic devices and more time outdoors. Most of my best memories growing up were spent outdoors with my family doing all sorts of activities. I wanted my son have the same experience. After my 88 yr old dad also wishing he still had livestock, we made a family decision to start a goat farm. Local goat auction with a few miles of my home. Why not, let’s do that, what could go wrong!
BR Farms was establish in 2018 on a small plot of 33 acres with mainly Boer mixed goats at the time. After a year buying anything that looked close to a goat and learning everything of what not to do (that being mainly trying buy everything and to raise Boer mix goats in the Deep South), in 2019 I made my first Kiko purchase. Our first Kiko was a non-registered white Kiko doeling quickly named by my 7 yr old son named Whitey. I spent the first half of 2019 watching Whitey compared to the rest of our herd. While the rest of the Boer herd was still requiring to be wormed. Still today I have never once had to worm her or trim her hooves. While that was a very small case study. It was enough for me to start making the switch.
Welcome to our family farm and our journey.

Most of the post made on BR Farms will be by son aka "The Marketing Director." A job that he takes seriously at times and now he is requiring daily meetings at the farm with me
Hereditary Cancer Genetic rep by day. Goat farmer every other minute.
Pharmacist by day. Professional goat tamer after work. We will probably never be able to sell an animal because they all become her babies/pets.
